The Pit Bull Coalition announces a new direction for

The GREATEST PIT BULL EVENT. EVER!

The October 5 version of The GREATEST PIT BULL EVENT. EVER! (GPBE) was planned in two parts:  the first, PAWDANCE – The Pit Bull Film Fest, at The Gardena Cinema; and the second, “Our Pit Bulls’ Big Night Out,” including The Pit Bull Fashion Show and the P.A.W.S. Adoption Celebration, at Illusion.

The Pit Bull Coalition, the producers of The GPBE, have made a decision to postpone “Big Night Out,” but to redouble its efforts surrounding PAWDANCE, to make the film fest bigger, better and more impactful than initially contemplated. 

PAWDANCE – The Pit Bull Film Fest

October 5, 5pm @ The Gardena Cinema

PAWDANCE: The Pit Bull Film Fest, is hosted by Hollywood and rescue icon Linda Blair and T.V. producer and host Tommy Habeeb (FOX’s “To The Rescue”), and features a collection of carefully-curated, pit bull-centric shorts.  Several of the films will be introduced by their producers/directors, who will participate in a Q&A following the screening of their film.

 

Elements just added to PAWDANCE include:

  • Book release celebration and signing with author HARMONY AVALON, as she unveils her brand new book “Champ: The Human Whisperer,” about her Staffordshire Bull Terrier.
  • Stand up comedy set with KELSEY DARRAGH, featuring her pit bull influencer Hippo
  • Viewing (and bidding!) on select silent auction items, such as a signed guitar from Taylor Swift from her recent ERAS tour
  • Live LARGE format pit bull painting by renown artists NATE and MICHAEL MAYES
  • Experts in the world of pit bull rescue speaking on the plight of the pit bull, and what we can all do to make a difference
  • A full bar!

Says The Pit Bull Coalition’s board member Joy Nadel, “With PAWDANCE, we’re really excited to present this first of its kind program that is designed to both educate and entertain.  The Gardena Cinema, which is the last remaining single-screen theatre in Los Angeles, is the perfect venue to pay tribute to what were at one time America’s favorite dog breeds.”  Adds Pit Bull Coalition founder Rick Bassman, “it’s all about the mission, and the dogs.  PAWDANCE was originally conceived to focus on just that. With our revamped program, we can now magnify this critical mission.”

The GREATEST PIT BULL EVENT. EVER!

Tickets are on sale NOW to The GREATEST PIT BULL EVENT. EVER!, a nonprofit entertainment spectacular, featuring luminaries from the worlds of film, television, music, fashion and pop culture, created expressly to help save the lives of pit bulls and bully breed dogs. 

 

The EVENT takes place Saturday, October 5th, live in L.A., –and live-streamed worldwide—and presented by The Pit Bull Coalition in conjunction with 15 of the world’s most respected pit bull rescues, all joined together in a common mission.

 

The extravaganza kicks off at 5:00 PM (Pacific) with PAWDANCE: The Pit Bull Film Fest at the legendary, vintage Gardena Cinema, L.A.’s last remaining single-screen theater.  PAWDANCE will feature highly-curated pit bull-related shorts, such as the Academy Award nominated Kitbull, which will be presented by writer/director Rosana Sullivan. PAWDANCE will be hosted by Iconic actress and pit bull rescuer extraordinaire Linda Blair.

 

Immediately following PAWDANCE, the party moves directly across the street to L.A.’s newest hot spot, Illusion, for a night filled with first-of-its-kind entertainment and attractions, including:

 

  • The Pit Bull Fashion Show,where 30 adorable and adoptable pit bulls and bully breed dogs will strut their stuff down the dogwalk, alongside world-class models, showcasing the latest styles.
  • The PAWS (Pit Bulls Are Worth Saving) Adoption Celebration,where you can meet our 15 carefully-selected Rescue Partners and learn more about their missions. You will all meet our 30 dog models from The Pit Bull Fashion Show. Get your picture taken with your favorite adoptable pup in our specially-appointed photo booth!
  • A Silent-PAWctionwhere you can bid on exclusive, one-of-a-kind, generously donated premiere prizes.  How many pups can you save by bidding on –and winning!– our signed Taylor Swift guitar, a weekend-at-the-mansion-on-the-water on Half Moon Bay, and SO much more?
  • The TUFF-est Photo Opp Ever featuring legends from the worlds of boxing,  bodybuilding, The American Gladiators, UFC, and WWE
  • PLUS: pitbull poker, canine-centric comedians, dog psychics, pit bull tattoos, L.A.’s hottest food trucks,and a whole lot more!

 

Sip from premium-hosted bars, inside and outdoors, and enjoy the best food trucks in all of Los Angeles (including vegan selections!)  in our elegant Illusion venue.  Between performances, celebrity emcees will guide us through specially produced videos featuring heartwarming stories of pit bull rescues.   Enjoy a night of mingling amongst thought leaders, celebrities, luxury brands, and individuals who passionately champion and protect our beloved pit bulls and bully breeds.
